We purchased the LG Washtower on April 7 and the retailer installed on April 13 2023. The washer makes a loud screeching sound every time the tub changes direction. Contacted retailer who referred us back to LG. Spoke to numerous LG representatives over several weeks/ Per one LG representative sent videos showing washer noise. Never hear back. The retailer has decided to do an exchange.

I bought this over a year ago and wish I would of done something about it soon. Have three babies and a full time job its really hard to figure out why an appliance sucks. Every wash I do it smells rotten so I run an empty cycle with vinegar first to see of that would help. The rubber part turns moldy and is almost impossible to clean and collects dirt and grime. I keep the door open so it can dry out and not get more moldy with the moisture. I should not need to clean a washer each use. I hate using it and now I an stuck with it because I would feel bad selling it to someone. I hate this washer but the dryer is fine.

Has not performed properly since I purchased it 8 months ago. Wash cycle takes over two hours soap remains in tub when cycle stops dryer always takes additional time to dry even small loads. Technicians say nothing wrong even though soap remind after cycle whe no soap was used. Used tub cleaner as recommended but no change. Presidential liaison did not follow up with me even though I sent Tarshunia several pictures. Disgusted with product and service.

A pain in the neck to use but it is gorgeous

This washer/dryer combo is beautiful and is great for washing large items. However for my typical laundry cotton tshirts underwear nice jeans I am still trying to figure out how to make it work as well as my previous washer/dryer combo. I with the typical loads I always use cold water and dry at low heat. I learned many years ago not to put my jeans in the dryer because they will shrink in length over time so I line dry them. I was surprised to find that the only preset wash program that is suitable for my tshirts and tops is the delicate cycle as it is the only one that allows you to choose cold water. I am still trying to figure out the best Spin choice that will not leave the clothes too wet but not compress them so much that wrinkles are set in. As far as drying the tshirts and tops it falls far short of my older unit that this one replaced. First NONE of the preset drying programs allow me to choose low heat I have to use the app to download a Very Delicate program and I would prefer not to have to use the app - I should be able to make choices in the presets for such a common usage. Second my previous dryer offered a cool-down period with every heat level that tumbled the load with air only for about 10 minutes before declaring the load to be done. When I pulled the clothes out of the dryer they were unwrinkled and cool to the touch. This dryer has no such feature and even drying on low heat my clothes come out wrinkled I need to experiment with setting different dry levels but I think that would just result in my clothes coming out damp. The Wrinkle Guard feature helps with not having to take the clothes out immediately but it doesnt make the wrinkles not appear in the first place. My biggest complaint is the amount of time it takes to dry out all of the gaskets to the washers door after using it. Not only does the inside of the door and the outside of the biggest gasket have to be dried but great care must be taken to dry the folds of the gasket in the door - there are two of them and my fingers plus drying towel barely fit in the innermost fold. AND the door must be left open which pretty much makes the unit not compact with respect to the space it takes up. I only dried the inside of the door and the outer gasket plus leaving the door ajar the first couple of times I used it and that was not enough to keep it from having a strong mildew smell. So now I know that I need to schedule an extra 5-10 minutes to dry the washer after finishing the days wash. Related is the filter at the bottom of the washer which apparently will need to be drained on a regular basis. This is the first time Ive seen this in a washer and it is not an easy task. The little hose the comes out isnt long enough so to drain it I have to get a very shallow pan that is large enough to catch all the water or Ill have a wet floor. Another extra maintenance chore is the need to run a washer clean cycle. The manual says to do this once a month but I question whether I need to do it that often as I am a small household of one and I wonder if that frequency would be the same as for a large family. I really dont want to have to do this as I live in a drought prone area and my household water comes from a rainwater collection system. Ive never had to do this with a previous washing machine and it seems like a huge waste of water to me. To sum up my problems with this machine are: 1. The necessity to use the app to accomplish routine tasks 2. Lack of dryer choices which minimize wrinkles in the preset tasks 3. Lack of a cool down cycle that I can find with any dryer program 4. Washing machine should not have so much residual water which I have to clean out myself to avoid mildew 5. Washing machine should not need to be washed out on a regular basis waste of water and electricity for hot water and the filter should be easier to empty.

Most questionable purchase for our new home

This was the 1st major purchase of our home and has now become the most regretful one. After researching many other brands models we found this one to be the perfect 1 for our new home. Which also included the customer service from LG that we were looking for leading us to make this purchase. But after only 6 months of owning the appliances we have now experienced multiple issues with the washer and dryer. These issues did create an inconvenience. But after reviewing the quality of customer service LG would provide we were assured it would be resolved effectively. Which has not been the case since we have reported the issue to LG. We have now been without washer and dryer for over a month. Which is now also cost us additional out of pocket expenses and inconvenience. By having to wash at the laundromat during this long overdue experience from this purchase from LG. The repairman has visited several times with each repair not finding any solution. Instead of replacing into brand new ones without issues. We are now going into 2 months of waiting for replacement parts with new appliances that we should not have these type of troubles with this soon. To add insult to injury the rest of our brand new appliances we have purchased for our kitchen and home are also LG as well. Which is very concerning being if we have any issues with those appliances that this is the type of customer service we will receive in turn. I feel that this may be the last time we will ever purchase LG if this matter is not corrected very soon. I truly hope LG can expedite resolve this matter to regain my assurance in products customer service brand.

Bought this from a local retailer in March 2021. After less than 2 years of use the glass on the interior door of the dryer shattered mid-cycle while drying a mattress pad. Before that I struggled with it a bit to get the drying level correct because it had a tendency to turn off before the laundry was dry. The drum was also noisy during drying cycles. The noise eventually went away after a few months of use but I always made sure to check the clothes after it buzzed that it was done because they were usually still a bit damp. Nothing I would have written a review about but the shattered glass door just puts a cherry on top. The washer part of the unit has always been fine and seems to do a good job washing. I purchased an extended warranty on the whole unit since Ive never had a combo appliance before and of course they consider the door to be cosmetic even though it rendered my unit useless and Ive got shattered glass to contend with whenever I can get this thing fixed. LG customer service told me too bad since its only got a 1 year warranty and the extended warranty is also worthless.

Ecstatic to do laundry again LG - Great unit

Last year I had looked at buying this unit as Best Buy had an open box at a discount. I second guessed myself and the unit was gone same day. This time when my washer finally gave out a couple weeks ago in January 2023 I went back to Best Buy to find another unit on sale with only a minor blemish so I jumped on it and glad I did. This unit is so smooth and quiet and does an amazing job on the laundry. Im amazed at how much faster it washes clothes in cycles that took a 1/3 longer it seemed on my older front load. Drying time is also improved. I like the central controls for both units in the stacker and the Smart ThinQ app and notifications are very helpful with our laundry on a separate floor of our home. Attention to detail seems very good and quality as well. I like that I can upload various custom programs for laundry which allows you to customize around certain laundry types or formats you do that arent one of the standard modes. All in all very happy thus far with the unit and actually very weird but I do enjoy doing laundry again where before was a burden now seems to create more excitement and much easier being able to take finished laundry out at eye level and not bending all the time Great unit LG hopefully this holds up for a long time. I did go with the Best Buy Total Tech service so feel that level of protection gives some peace of mind. Also kudos to the Best Buy team the salesman Jose that helped me with this purchase and the delivery guys that did a great job moving old out and new in on our second floor laundry room.

We purchased this unit based on size - despite the fact that the last LG unit leaked and destroyed the closet it was in. We had a new closet custom-built based on specs. After wasting two work days waiting for the installation and being given the runaround by LG and the delivery company I now have the unit sticking out of the closet... Customer service is only capable of understanding my frustration.

Our washer freezes at the spin cycle and shows code for vibration sensor. Then we lost all power to unit. Tech was out and replaced circuit board along with other parts. In the end Lg gave up and offered us a refund. So now we have to wait for a check dispose of broken tower and shop for another machine at higher prices. Thanks so much Lg

I had this new unit installed 3 weeks ago. First time use the washer leaked out the bottom ruined my basement ceiling and my new wood floors. Getting a repairman out has been a nightmare. Still waiting for a serviceman. Im so disappointed in the process of getting a repair under warranty. Everything is automated-no humans to speak to. So frustrated

I really hope to enjoy the wash tower. Neither LG nor the 3rd Party delivery and setup contractor can tell me where the wash tower is. LG received my payment over 30 days ago. So again Id imagine it washes and drys really well. Will follow up soon.

I bought it from Home Depot there was a dent I was told its cosmetic damage but it never worked. After many back forth LG technician came he fixed it within 10 minutes. Home Depot sold me defected piece.since then working fine.

Ive been wanting a new washer and dryer for two years now and I seen this washtower when it first came out and was like wow i really like that idea and love how the buttons are in the middle and not having to reach up like a normal stackable is great Plus with this this I could get more space in my kitchen for more cabinets. I seen Home Depot had it on sale and I also had a zero interest deal so I just went ahead a pulled the trigger and got everything I needed to install I went a head and did the order online I did it on thanksgiving and it was delivered on Dec 3rd and was placed where Id like it I figured install it myself and get the stuff I would like for the install got ready to install and noticed the top panel seemed to be loose - seems like screws are missing also on the cold water inlet for steam on the Dryer its missing a screw there as well I have included pictures of those areas install was not a issue only thing I had to do was piece together was the dryer vent. Owned it about 2 weeks now and seems like I had it for months so far washed just about everything from bedding to clothes and the dogs blankets The washer can wash a medium size load in 29 min Before it seemed to take about 45 or so mins to wash the same size load in a older top load washer. Dryer is same deal drys all the way in half the time the old one would I feel like its already reduced the amount of water and electricity probably by half Id say. What I love the most is how quiet it is If you are thinking about buying this dont think any longer to do so Definitely worth buying

Weve only run 9 loads through this machine so far but we are super pleased with the performance. Dingy socks? Adding steam to the wash cycle got our whites brilliant again We hope this product gives us a long lifetime of excellent washes.
